Which Location?

I am planning to visit Kiev for New Year's Eve and want to rent an apartment. Any idea on the best location in Kiev where I will be near the traditional festivities and the good night life?

I'm also going to be in Kiev for New Year's Eve and have already booked my apartment. Apartments will be in short supply over that period according to my contacts so best to book early. The best areas in my opinion are around Kreshatick St, Basseyna St, Shevchenko Bvd, Shota Rustaveli, Esplanadna St or smaller roads leading off these roads.
Independence Square should be very festive on New Years Eve and there are many pubs / clubs around including O'Briens which is great.
PM me if you are going to Kiev and hopefully we can meet up for a beer or 10. Then I'm off snowskiing in the mountains with my Ukrainian gf. Can't wait.
